What we do
| How does Budget Buddy protect my personal information? | To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), password hashing, and restricted access to the underlying database and server infrastructure. We do not store your bank login credentials — those are handled entirely by our service provider, Stripe, under its own security program. |

| Why can't I limit all sharing? | Federal law gives you the right to limit only sharing for affiliates' everyday business purposes — information about your creditworthiness, affiliates from using your information to market to you, and sharing for nonaffiliates to market to you. State laws and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing. We don't share your information in any of these ways in the first place, so there is nothing here for you to opt out of. |
Definitions
| Affiliates | Companies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies. Budget Buddy has no affiliates. |
| Nonaffiliates | Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies. Budget Buddy does not share your personal information with nonaffiliates for them to market to you. We do use nonaffiliated service providers (Stripe for bank-linking, Amazon Web Services for hosting) strictly to operate the app on your behalf. |
| Joint marketing | A formal agreement between nonaffiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you. Budget Buddy doesn't engage in joint marketing. |
